Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can't pick up my order?

Going away? Choose a schedule that’s best for you.

Change Location: Changing a delivery location allows you to pick up at another location within the same week.

Hold a Delivery: Placing a “HOLD” on your delivery will result in forfeiting that box for the week. You will not be charged for the missed box.

How can I customize my box?

Tell us your preference:

Not a fan of beets? Have lettuce left from last week? Customized CSA Market Boxes will allow you to select items for your box 5-6 days ahead of delivery based on our harvest (see harvest schedule at bottom of this page). This will help you eat everything in your box because you’ll love everything you are getting.

Want “extra” items from the farm? With just a few clicks of a button, we’ll put those in your box. Which means less trips to the grocery store and more time in your day!

We are dedicated to making it easier for you to buy your everyday groceries from our family farm, local farmers, small businesses and food artisans. You can be confident in knowing what we offer is local. Click Here to See the possibilities for your box!

When do I customize my order?

Mark your calendar now:

You’ll want to get out of fast food mode! Things take a bit of time when you’re eating quality food right from the farm. Therefore look for your weekly June – October customization email just a day or two after you receive your CSA Market Box so we can get started. For the bi-weekly season November – May look for your customization email the following week after receiving your CSA Market Box.

Here is an example of the farm’s timeline:

  • You will have 2-3 days to customize what you would like for the following week.
  • Please allow the farm 2 days to harvest as well as place orders from others like dairy, eggs, bread, etc.
  • Plus time to pack your box.

Why choose a bigger box?

Discover ways to be a smart shopper:

The computer system is set for whatever size box you choose as your spend amount. On the occasion that items are in low supply they may have already been pre-built into the larger boxes. Therefore, you may not be able to get the extra items.

For that reason it may be best to get a bigger box to start with. To get your money’s worth with a bigger box you can think about stocking up on proteins to conveniently have them on-hand in your freezer.

Other great items for your freezer would be to have cheese, maple syrup, ice cream, and granola to serve up at a moments notice! Beef jerky and beef sticks are other great freezer items to have accessible for when you get those ravenous cravings for a quick snack.

How can I reduce food waste?

Hate seeing things thrown away?

Thinking you might waste too much food? We have the solution for you! Simply hold your box every-other-delivery or pause for a season of time. No need to ever cancel your subscription. Jump in and out when you want as we grow in our NW Ohio fields all year long. Which means that you can still get your hands on the farm fresh flavors that you’ll love! You’ll never miss out because we’ll send you an email reminder for the weeks you want to stock your fridge.

Riehm’s takes waste reduction one step further and donates any surplus harvest to the community at several of our local pick-up locations. Resulting in over $10,000 annually in total products given to these locations:

  • Findlay Community Churches. Provided fresh fruit and vegetables to help supplement low income individuals weekly.
  • Brown Bag Food Project. Provided fresh fruit and vegetables to support people in crisis in Wood county.
  • Toledo community area.

Where can I get recipes?

Act on dinner ideas:

Fridge full of food but nothing for dinner? 83% of our customers are telling us that their meal prep results have improved while utilizing a seasons worth of CSA Market Boxes. We offer great resources to our members including our well acclaimed Private Facebook Group where members share tips, and ideas to support you in using up all the contents from your box.
